What does non-custodial mean for my security?

Non-custodial explained: BoomFi does not hold your wallet keys, seed phrase, or take custody of funds.

BoomFi uses a non-custodial model:

  • Your payment moves straight from your wallet to the merchant's wallet through our infrastructure.

  • BoomFi never takes control, custody, or possession of your funds at any point.

  • We only verify and confirm that a payment has occurred on the blockchain.

What BoomFi can and cannot do for your security

We can:

  • Confirm whether your payment settled successfully on the blockchain.

  • Verify that the merchant received the settlement notification.

  • Provide you with a clean payment confirmation to share with the merchant.

  • Help diagnose payment errors (wrong network, wrong token, partial payments).

We cannot:

  • Reverse, cancel, or refund a transaction once it is on the blockchain.

  • Access, move, or freeze funds in your wallet or any wallet.

  • Recover funds sent to the wrong address unless that address belongs to BoomFi's infrastructure.

  • Intervene in a dispute between you and a merchant (we can only verify payment status).

Practical steps to protect yourself

  • Always double-check the correct network, token, and address before sending.

  • Use Connect Wallet instead of Wallet Transfer when possible — it eliminates the room for manual error.

  • Keep your private keys and recovery phrases offline and secure.

  • Never share your private keys with anyone, not even BoomFi support.

  • Bookmark the official BoomFi website and check URLs before entering any information.

BoomFi's non-custodial model means you are never exposed to counterparty risk with us. Your funds remain under your control at all times. In exchange, you are responsible for sending payments correctly. For everything else, whether it is verifying payments, diagnosing errors, and providing proof of settlement — we are here to help.
